Brock Garlick
Brock Garlick is a 1st degree Black belt under world renowned martial artist Rafael Lovato Jr.
Brock started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2009 in Cape Coral, Florida and has become a life-long martial artist.
With serving 5 years as a Corrections Officer at the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, he is professionally trained in Defensive Tactics.
Brock was a 2x recipient of life-savor awards from the Sheriff and an accommodation letter from Senator Bill Nelson.
Brock is the Former manager at Core Fight Academy out of Haslet, TX (acquired by Fitness Fight Factory).
He currently owns and instructs every class at City of Palms Jiu-Jitsu, on top of running his successful real estate business.
Brock is family oriented first and foremost. He is a husband, and father to his sons Everett and Ford.

The Lovato Jiu-Jitsu team is one of the strongest teams in the United States. Home to the most decorated and experienced American BJJ competitor of all time. Students of the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association receive cutting edge instruction and mentorship from one of the world’s best instructors and competitors of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Currently, the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association has produced 4 ADCC veterans, World and Pan-American medalists at all belt levels, and No-Gi World medalists at all belt levels. The Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association is based in Oklahoma City, far away from the major competitions and teams. Due to this hinderance, the LJJA has developed a proven system to reach the highest levels in BJJ despite location or resources. All Association schools are provided with the world class Lovato Jiu-Jitsu curriculum, internet video resource to Lovato Jr. techniques, and top notch business strategies to help LJJA schools become successful!

Having a clean facility is of upmost importance to us. Student uniforms are required to be washed before training. We personally ensure school mats + facilities are sanitized on a daily basis with a specially designed cleaning agent that stops blood borne infection, bacteria and fungus.

We believe that the practice of Jiu Jitsu is seen as a means to individual development and personal growth. Strength, self-awareness, confidence, respect, discipline and responsibility are common core values taught within our adult and kid’s programs.
Everything about it, top to bottom. A school that has blossomed in the last year in many ways. Clean facilities, huge mat space, 2 ages of kids’ classes, large inventory of merchandise on site, sponsorships with local vendors, drop ins from UFC fighters, and most importantly a large group of older Moms and Dads that routinely find time to set the example for their children by grinding with savages after a long day at the office.
City of Palms is all around amazing. This gym not only provides valuable training, but everyone at the gym (including students) are so welcoming to new people that join. They constantly support one another. The culture of the school is strong and healthy.
The gym is always clean, professor Brock is kind and incredibly respectful towards his students and the parents. Front desk ladies always welcome people with a smile.
They support local cops (adopt a cop program) helping them prepare for any issues they may encounter in the streets while they’re protecting citizens.

My whole family trains here, including myself and I honestly wouldn’t want to ever train anywhere else in the area.

I have been to a few other BJJ places in South West Florida, but I love the atmosphere and interaction with the community that City of Palms has. The classes are about teaching and learning, not a free for all fight. Watching the kids classes and seeing them grow, along with the adults is amazing.
